Day 105 — Hey-o!
[for April 15]
Nick's apparently in a cardigan phase. And he likes to quote Ed McMahon. We nattered on and on about newspaper nerd stuff. We drank. We talked about why people on the internet are so angry about some things. I learned more about World of Warcraft in one sitting than I ever thought I'd know. We listened to Swedish indie pop and Justin Timberlake. We spent the night debating who's more evil — Dawn Tinsley or David Brent. Naturally, Nick and his flatmates (ha) think it's Dawn while I think it's David.
Perhaps some other time I'll expound on our theories (they revolve around a naive lack of empathy for one character and a malicious lack of empathy for the other), but I gotta hit the road to Saltillo. I have a package to pick up. And it is going to be awesome.

I think it's Chris Finch. He's the only one who never experiences character evolution.
Nick and I talked about this once. We decided it would make a terrific panel discussion.
Chris Finch definitely is the stock evil character who gets to be static and representative of what everyone else deviates from.
But I still maintain that David Brent is essentially a bad man. The last episode shows him having bouts of goodness, but I'm unconvinced that he has really changed in any fundamental way.
