Well, kind of out of nowhere, my neck has seized up and I can hardly look all the way to my right. It hurts like a bitch, way down into the middle of my back and below my shoulderblade. I have muscle relaxers from the doctor, but I can't be expected to get any work done when I'm on drugs.
And the check engine light in my rental car came on the other day. They want me to come in and swap cars. Bummer. It's for the best, I guess; it's getting 16 freaking miles to the gallon. It's settled: I want a Prius.

I have the exact same problem with my neck from time to time. I ignored it forever and ever before being talked into going to a massage therapist and paying them to spend 30 minutes on my neck and back, and it fixed the hell out of it.
Hey--you remember that car accident you had? I wasn't kidding when I said that you never know what's going to happen (that's why the insurance companies want to pay your medical bills--so you "settle" before your year is up and don't have any recourse to get compensated for real damage). Six months after my accident, I woke up one day and couldn't move my neck. I spent weeks in physical therapy and tons of money on massages that weren't covered by insurance. But I got all that money back (and more) in my settlement with the insurance company.
Go to the doctor again. Ask for Skelaxin. It's a daytime muscle relaxer that doesn't make you stoned or anything. It's good stuff (but very expensive).
Skelaxin does work well; I've taken it. Although I have to say I prefer the kind you're on. But being on them at work is not a good idea for me. I took half of one of my weakest Xanaxes at work Friday, and more than a few teachers gave me weird looks when I was tripping all over my words. Hadn't taken one in ages. The moral of that story has not been determined.
However, I'm still voting that you sue the drunk licenseless, insuranceless bee-yotch.
Let us know what the doc says!
And avoid the chiropractors!
