Day 319 — On The Road
Going to Nashville and back in less than 24 hours is tedious business. Especially in heavy rain, which kept falling and falling yesterday once I hit Middle Tennessee. I became envious of all the assholes who plowed ahead in the grey wetness at 70 mph while my little shitmobile felt much safer and much more stable cruising at 50. (I have a serious, serious fear of hydroplaning.) Of course, my envy subsided when I passed a four-car crash (well, three cars plus an 18-wheeler).
I think that even though I didn't get the see the show I wanted to see, I lucked out because I was on the road during what could have been the two days this year that the trees were at their most autumnly.
This picture doesn't do them justice, but what could?

Oh, so you're one of those douches that drives 20mph in rainfall?
Haha, just kidding. I have that same fear. I just keep telling myself that it isn't ice, and that I dropped a fair sum for some kickass tires. Maybe if you get some really great all-weather tires you'll feel less antsy about it? I dunno. Driving on snow still freaks me out, no matter what. I went in a ditch once and all was ruined.
