I'm totally going to get lei'd

Yeah, I made that joke. Sue me.

I just bought tickets to Hawaii. I'm all giddy and shit because I've never skipped the pond before. Hell, I've barely skipped the Mississippi, so this is a big deal for me. I consider the seven-hour layover in Seattle to be part of the adventure. Anyone want to recommend something fun and quick to do at 6 a.m. on a Tuesday in that city? While you're waiting on your next flight? Yeah, I bet it'll involve coffee.

I can't wait. We're going to have such a great time. Surfing lessons, mai tais, roasted pigs, credit-card debt. Fan-effing-tastic.

First week of October. I have no idea if that's a good time to go, but I figure it's Hawaii. Is there a bad time to go?

Congrats! Random road trips rock! I'm actually heading up to Oregon the week after your trip to Hawaii. We'll have to bore the shit out of each other with vacation photos.

woah, fantastic. you'll NEVER want to come back to memphis, though...

i've never been to hawaii. like an idiot, when i finally decided to visit the non-continental u.s., i went to ALASKA. talk about a dumb choice.

have an amazing time! wish i knew what to tell you about seattle at 6 a.m., but i'm still having trouble accepting the fact that the world exists at 6 a.m.

There are enough cool art installations in the Seattle airport to keep you busy for at least an hour. Beth's Cafe in... Fremont? I'm not that familiar with the various boroughs... is 24 hours and a good breakfast spot. It's like CK's on roids.

Ah, I am so jealous. I'm sure Amber-poo will be giddy to see new beaches.

Brandon, deal. Are you going to visit Cox, too?

Fearless, you're right. It's high time we indulged in some cinematic mediocrity again. Surely a new crop of crappy scary movies is right around the corner.

Jen, thanks for the suggestions!

Nashgirl, she's so excited about surfing that I'm pretty sure I'm gonna look like a chump since I've only ever been to a beach less than five times in my life.
