A face for radio and a voice for blogging
For several weeks, Laura Conaway of NPR's Bryant Park Project has been working with me to get an audio slideshow going for the BPP blog as part of their "Where I Live Now" series.
And here it is!! (I'm geeking out about it. Sorry!)
Naturally, I was worried that I sounded totally stupid (not to mention nasally and bored; why do I always sound so freaking bored?!), but I think Laura managed to edit out the more vapid points of my interview, when I rambled about slopping hogs in Saltillo and avoiding the strip malls of East Memphis. Yeesh, for an introvert, I really do like the sound of my own voice.
Thanks again, Laura!
And to everyone who wanders over here from BPP, welcome. Take off your shoes and don't mind the cat hair.

Hey, your Blog is so cool. I really enjoy reading it. You have a refreshingly creative mind. A guiding light for me in this world of blunt, straightforward, just-plain-mean people.
WOO! Interview on NPR! That totally rules. super-mega-high-five. K, I gotta go listen to it now.
Thanks for the directions to your apartment. :)
Wow! Well-done. Have you always had that twang?
hey - congrats on this!!! my dream is to be on NPR one day... and thanks for the comments on my blog! whoo-hoo! A
Wow! I just watched the NPR thing and LOVED IT! That was amazing! I'm so excited for you! Damn, LT, NPR. That seems big to me. Jeff says to tell you that he really enjoyed it, too. Great pictures, too. As always. You couldn't have chosen better ones. And it's really cool that it seems like you went out and shot them especially FOR the NPR thing, but they were actually just your everyday photographs. Tremendous job, really.
You're awesome. ;)
Oh, and when you become famous just imagine how much all the high school notes from you will be worth! Ha ha ha.
You're making it, by God. You're actually making it.
Your voice is very soothing. It soothes me.
EP, thank you! What an awesome thing to say. :)
Jerm, super-mega-high-five back atcha!
Lesley, you're welcome. Please bring booze.
Cox, ain't no thang like my Southern twang.
Andria, some day you will be the All Things Considered music critic, and I will listen to your reviews religiously.
PT, thank you!! Those notes will prevent me from ever holding public office, this we know.
Fritz, you crack me up.
That was a great radio episode. Well done.
The slide show really did look great. You are lucky you like your own voice. Never in a million years would I have done something like that. I can't stand the sound of my own voice.
