Not so fast
There's a collective exhalation of relief at the news that JonBenet Ramsey's killer has confessed, and it's quickly transforming into breathless self-flagellation by news outlets and individuals who feel bad that they thought John and Patsy had something to do with the murder all along.
But I'm with Jack Shafer; I say bite your tongue and give it some time. John Mark Karr's story is more than a little on the suspicious side. Yes, he's clearly a sick motherfucker. But that doesn't mean he's the sick motherfucker to blame for this murder. And even if he is, that doesn't mean that the Ramseys had nothing to do with the whole disgusting mess.
Don't forget their odd behavior at every turn during the investigation. Here's a timeline to refresh your memory. It could be that the Ramseys were just a dysfunctional family that chose, time and time again, to react in suspicious ways in the face of a nation's scrutiny.
We have to acknowledge that the Ramseys are innocent until proven guilty. But so is Karr. He might have confessed, but he wouldn't be the first doofus in history to confess to a crime he didn't commit. And he wouldn't be the first fall guy in history who took the heat off another equally guilty person. It's possible. We just don't know yet.
It's going to take some time to suss out the truth. And if the past ten years have been any indication of what could be to come, the Denver police could botch this latest revelation beyond recognition, and we may never find out what actually happened and where the responsibility for JonBenet's death lies. So I'm holding my apologies until the facts come out.

the more i read and the more i think about this, the more I believe that this confession and story doesn't pass the smell taste.
Lotta smoke with this story..still not convinced about the location of the fire.
Yeah, I mean, the guy claims he picked JonBenet up from school the day he killed her, but she was killed during the Christmas holiday (her body was found Dec. 26)! All sorts of things in his story don't quite mesh.
Glad to see some others are skeptical as well.
His ex-wife claims he was with her in Alabama at the time of the murder.
